Daryll Forde (1902-1973) est un universitaire anglais anthropologue et africaniste qui, après son doctorat, sera accueilli à Berkely où il découvrira l'école anthropologique américaine. A partir de 1935 ses recherches de terrain seront essentiellement consacrées au peuple Yako (Nigeria). Après 1945 il enseignera à l'University College de Londres et dirigera jusqu'à sa mort l'International African Institute.
